This year, on November 8, the RSSA, the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) together with other international radiological societies will celebrate the first International Day of Radiology (IDoR 2012).

The IDoR initiative was established with the aim of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care, and improving understanding of the vital role radiologists play in the healthcare continuum.

You are invited and encouraged to promote the IDoR within your community.

You can download the beautifully compiled booklet ‘The Story of Radiology (Volume I) which has been published by the ESR in cooperation with ISHRAD - The International Society for the History of Radiology - Deutsches Röntgen Museum.

All the key information about the International Day of Radiology, including the booklets about oncologic imaging and the history of radiology, can be found on the day’s official website at http://internationaldayofradiology.com.

You can also keep right up to date with the latest news by liking the International Day of Radiology Facebook page, and show your support by joining the official Facebook event page.

We are looking forward to a successful and strongly supported First International Day of Radiology.
