SA 2015 IMAGING Congress

On behalf of RSSA and SORSA, Prof Leon Janse van Rensburg and Dr Fozy Peer cordially invite you to the SA 2015 Imaging Congress to be held from 9 – 11 October 2015 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
This 4th joint congress marks a milestone shift from Durban to Sandton which we believe is ideally suited for such an important event. The Sandton Convention Centre is conveniently situated in the heart of Sandton, Johannesburg, with easy access from OR Tambo International Airport. The modern Mandela Square shopping centre caters for all tastes and preferences.
The main radiology tract will be a categorical course in Neuroradiology presented as a joint venture between the RSSA (Radiological Society of South Africa), SASNI (South African Society of Neuroimaging), ISMRM (International Society of Magnetic Resonance) and the ESNR (European Society of Neuroradiology).
We are privileged and honoured to our international neuroradiology faculty of Prof Anne Osborne (USA), Walter Kuckarczyk (Canada), Howard Rowley (USA), Majda Turner (Austria), Pia Sundgrun (Sweden) Turgut Tali (Turkey) and Johan van Goethem (Belgium). The international faculty will be supported by members of SASNI.The invited speaker for the opening plenary session is Donna Newman who is the Director of Professional Practice on the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT). She has worked extensively with the WHO, IRQN and IAEA on documents related to Basic Safety Standards and Radiation Safety in a Health Care setting.
The free paper session for the 2015 RSSA Travel Award of R40 000.00 will take place during the course. There will also be a scientific and poster exhibition with prizes of R15,000.00, R10,000.00 and R5,000.00 respectively. These prizes apply to RSSA members only.
We assure you of an experience where you will be exposed to a technically advanced and academically stimulating programme. Sessions devoted to scientific papers, will include tracts on Current trends and challenges in Diagnostic Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Ultrasound; Research in advanced imaging and radiation therapy, Education and training in radiography, Role extension; Dose optimization and justification; Ethics in clinical practice and Practice Management. It will be the ideal opportunity to exchange ideas, learn about new advances and strengthen friendships and make new acquaintances.
Leading commercial vendors have been invited to present their latest technology and equipment.
CEUs will be awarded for attendance on a per session basis. Please diarize these dates and do not miss this opportunity.
