RSNA 2012 Introduction to Research for International Young Academics (IRIYA) Program Nomination Deadline – April 15, 2012

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is currently accepting nominations for the RSNA 2012 Introduction to Research for International Young Academics (IRIYA) Program. The focus of this program is to encourage young radiologists from countries other than the United States and Canada to pursue careers in academic radiology. Eligible candidates are residents and fellows currently in radiology training programs, or radiologists not more than two years out of training, who are beginning or considering an academic career (research or teaching). Nominations must be made by the candidate’s department chairperson or training director. Fluency in English is required.

RSSA/SASPI Paediatric Imaging Congress - 9 -11 November 2012

The following 2012 RSSA Travel Award and Poster Prizes will be awarded at the RSSA/SASPI Paediatric Imaging Congress :

The RSSA Travel Award

The R 40,000.00 prize is for the best paper presented by a registrar or junior radiologist not more than 5 years qualified (the presenter must be a RSSA member). The winner must use to prize money to attend an overseas course or congress of own choice within a year and submit a report that will be published in the SAJR.

Poster Awards

RSSA First Prize R15,000

RSSA Second Prize R10,000

RSSA Third Prize R5,000

Participants are invited to submit original abstracts for oral and/or poster presentations by 13 August 2012. Only online submissions will be accepted.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

There will be a session for presenting the best 6 free papers/oral presentations. Each presentation will be 10 minutes (8 minutes presentation and 2 minutes for questions). The presentations will be judged by a panel consisting of national as well as international radiologists. Junior radiologists and registrars will also qualify for the RSSA Travel Award of R40,000 for the best paper
.

There will also be a scientific and poster exhibition with prizes of R15,000.00, R10,000.00 and R5,000.00 respectively.

Authors are requested to conform to the guidelines for submission of abstracts. The abstracts must be submitted in English. All abstracts will be reviewed and may be selected for oral or poster presentation or may be rejected. The maximum length for an abstract is 250 words.

The time allotted for poster presentations is 7 minutes (5 minute presentation and 2 minutes for questions). English will be the language for all oral and poster presentations. Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Local Scientific Committee will be e-mailed to the presenting author at the address given on the abstract by 20 August 2012.

We strongly encourage submitting authors to register for the conference via the online registration system simultaneously with the abstract submission.

Detailed information guidelines and recommendations for oral and poster presentations, as well as time allotment, date, hour, and venue, will be sent in due time to fully registered authors, by the early bird deadline of 28 September 2012.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

  1. Create an account with your individual username and password on the conference website.
  2. You will receive an automated email in which there is a link to confirm your account (please check your spam folder too).
  3. Log in using your individual username and password and submit your abstract online.
  4. Abstracts may be submitted online only until the deadline 13 August 2012.
  5. Abstracts sent by mail, direct e-mail, or fax will not be accepted.
